The NCAA, in cooperation with the New College Foundation, has initiated a project that addresses New College and President Michalson’s expressed need for increased funding for out-of-state students with the goal of returning New College to a 50/50 ratio of in-state to out-of-state students. The first component of this undertaking is a special campaign to raise $250,000 from alums to create The Palm Court Endowed Scholarship Fund. Your gift can help bring talented high school students from all over the country to our remarkable campus.
When the $250,000 goal is reached, it will be matched at 50% by the State of Florida with an additional $125,000, creating an endowment of $375,000 for out-of-state student scholarship support. The Palm Court Endowment will generate approximately $18,750 annually for scholarships in perpetuity. So far over $226,000 has been raised and we still need your help to make this the most successful Alum initiative to date!
This initiative also presents the opportunity to leave a visible reminder of the significance of New College to all of us. The second component of the project is the dedication of Palm Court- the center of the universe- on behalf of all New College alums, past, present, and future. What’s more, your fully tax deductible donation will be commemorated by a brick, paver, or silver plaque name plate in Palm Court. Now your name, favorite quote, or gift in honor of a loved one can be immortalized in the “Center of the Universe.”
Your custom engraving can include the Four Winds logo if desired and offers recognition to a wide variety of people, groups and events such as:
-A retired faculty member - An honorary alum
- The memory of a close friend or classmate
- Your graduating or entering class - A current or graduating student
- A New College student club or organization
Purchasing a brick or paver as a group is easy! The Alumnae/i Association is happy to help bring your group together in making a commemorative donation.
The opportunities are endless. Gifts above $1500 can be paid over a period of up to three years, and commitments from $100 to $1500 can be paid within one year through monthly payments.
Before the renovation of Palm Court; nameplates, bricks, and pavers will be on display at the New College Foundation, and will be the focus of a viewing during the 2008 Alum Reunion Weekend.
