Larry and his wife, Liz Rudow, Ph.D., are both members of the Class of '87. They now live outside of Boston with their son.

Larry was a history major in New College (Senior thesis committee consisted of Laszlo Deme, Justus Doenecke, and Lee Snyder). While at New College, he was Chief Justice of the New College Student Court, lived in first and third courts, and helped found the New College Winemakers' Association. He earned his J.D. and his M.P.H. from Boston University. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York and New Hampshire.

Larry Vernaglia has served on the NCAA Board from 1999-2007. He has been both the President and Secretary of the Association.

Larry is now a health care lawyer in Boston, and a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP in the firm's Health Care Industry Team where he represents hospitals, health systems and academic medical centers and a variety of other health care providers in regulatory and business matters. He is the Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association's Health Law Section. Larry is the co-editor of the two volume treatise Massachusetts Health and Hospital Law Manual (2004) and also the Clinical Research Compliance Handbook (2007). He has published more than 40 articles and book chapters on various topics in law and medicine in such sources as AHLA's Health Law Digest and Health Lawyers Weekly; Medical Economics; The Journal of Health Care Finance; The Boston Business Journal; The Physician's News Digest; Developing and Managing Physician Networks: Business and Legal Strategies; Annotated Law Reports 5th Ed.; Health Care Policy Report; American Academy of Healthcare Attorneys News; Medicine &; Health/Rhode Island; and JONA's Journal of Healthcare Law, Ethics & Regulation. He was the moderator of an 11-part teleconference series in the Spring of 2007 - A Reimbursement Primer for Compliance, Legal and Ethics Officers for the Health Care Compliance Association. Larry serves on editorial boards for several journals and treatises including Medical Economics, JONA's Journal of Healthcare Law, Ethics, & Regulation; Medicine & Health/Rhode Island. For several years, he has been co-chair of MCLE's comprehensive Health Law Basics program and the advanced Health Law Conference.
