{Book Award Program}

 Reach the Future
Participate in the New College Alumnae/i Association’s
Book Award Program!

Across the country, outstanding High School students are becoming acquainted with New College of Florida through our Book Award Program. Not only does this offer an opportunity to recognize the achievements of these deserving students, but it allows us to introduce them to the inspiring and challenging learning environment that is NCF.

The Book Award Program brings students excelling in academics and leadership in contact with New College Alums, who may both sponsor the book awarded, as well as present the award at their chosen High School’s Awards Ceremony.

The books chosen to be included range from Loren Pope’s “Colleges that Change Lives”, among which is listed New College, to New College Professor Meg Lowman’s “Life in the Treetops”, to even “A Hope Unseen” by Ron Suskind, which is also the “Common Read” for all NCF students in the entering class of 2006.

Along with the book, recipients are given an admissions packet, a letter of congratulations from the College, and a list of ‘e-buddies’, current students and alumnae/i who are available through email to offer perspective and answer questions about the New College experience.

A pivotal facet of this program is alum participation, and there are plenty of ways to become involved. Refer to us a potential Book Award Recipient or High School; join our list of e-buddies; sponsor a Book Award; or donate an hour of your time to present the Award at a High School in your area. Your involvement would help make potential students aware of the opportunities that can await them at New College.
